DISAPPEARANCE

 Innocent people continue to get picked up from their residence and work places by the security police and continue to disappear without a trace in EPRDF' controlled Ethiopia. There are political prisoners like Tsegaye Gebre Medhin, Hagos Bezabih, Yishak Debrestion, Belete Amha,Sitotaw Hussein,Berhanu Ijigu, Kumsa Berayu, Tekali Gebre Sellasie Azanaw Demile and others who have disappeared since the early 1990s.

 Among the latest disappearances figures Weizero (Mrs) SEBLE WENGEL DEMISSIE. A mother of two she lived in house no. 527 (wereda 7, kebelee 14. Addis Abeba) and she was picked up from her house in the evening by the political police. She has not been heard of since that fateful end of May 2002.

 Weizero Seble Wengel had been in the past known as a critic of the EPRDF's human rights violations especially against Oromos and in the Oromo inhabited areas. Her husband has been going from one police station to another looking for her but has not yet found her and the authorities claim to know "nothing" about her case.
